I loved this book. I loved the competitive history of former Olympic hockey players, Campbell and Emma shared. All those years they competed against each other was actually just foreplay for their post hockey playing days, they just don’t realize it. Emma is now teaching/coaching at a private boarding school when Campbell joins the faculty and is tapped to help Emma coach the girls’ hockey team. These once fierce rivals now have to get along with each other. The book’s secondary-character friends are fantastic and add a lot of humor and love to the whole story. They see the potential for a love connection between Campbell and Emma and provide the support and honest input these two need to come together. There are hot kissing scenes galore in this book, and the love between Campbell and Emma is palpable and endearing. During these stressful times, this is just the kind story that I want to read. It has lots of humorous banter, funny occurrences, and lovely people looking out for each other. I highly recommend this book if you want a lighthearted read that leaves you happy and hopeful. This book was so good! If you've read Duncan before, you kind of know what to expect. And if you haven't - what are you waiting for?? - but you'll generally find an amazing, lighthearted, tender and soft romance with solid and very 'real' characters at the forefront. I absolutely love fluff. And I love that I can go into Duncan's books (new or old) and know what I'm getting. And I'm NEVER disappointed!! (It's probably a weird thing calling a book a "safe place" to go, but when the world is so chaotic and wild it's nice to have something solid that you know is going to make you feel good and forget about all the chaos around you. That's what Duncan's books are - a safe place to go and guaranteed to make you smile!)This one was incredible! I loved the hockey aspect! I loved the enemies to lovers trope! The side characters were AMAZING. And I love that casualness of one of the best friend characters being in a wheelchair. I loved the callbacks to her other books as well! It was also really funny!! This book, probably more so than her others, made me actually laugh out loud SEVERAL times. I really, really, really loved this one! It's one I will probably go back to again and again!!
