Never read this author before and will not again. Didn't get through the first chapter and realized this is not something I needed to be reading. I am a prolific reader and read all kinds of books, and have never felt the need to read/hear course language when it was not necessary. I understand that is modern culture today, but it speaks of lazy and unintelligent people saying things that could be said in other thoughtful and clean ways, that would enhance the story line. The hopping in bed was also a contention, especially when a child resulted from the consensual fevered lust activity is also very sad. There is no love expressed, just sexual needs met, how sad for a child conceived in that manner. Nothing worth spending my time or attention on, in this book. Too bad I have to pay for it. This is my first time reading this author though I have enjoyed reading books set in Whiskey River and Last Stand Texas. I made the mistake of buying the series figuring it would be an enjoyable extension of towns and people - unfortunately I really did not find it so. As has been mentioned, the language is more graffic than I like and the writing is lacking. I struggled through the first 3 book barely able to finish and when I did I wondered why I wasted my time. I could not relate to the characters and found the story lines awkwardly handled.
